Spring windows in London.

The sunshine this week inspired us to take a walk around town, for inspirational spring windows. Selfridges ruled the scene, but there was many other cool, fun and classic windows. Oh what pleasure, good old window shopping...

Finally, Selfridges...

Did someone die in this?

Our dear friend Hanna has been working on a documentary about vintage clothing.
Here it is...

Ljubov Popova

Rodchenko & Popova defining Constructivism is now on Tate Modern. We visited the exibition, that includes work of both Aleksandr Rodchenko and Ljubov Popova. Their art were so wide range covering painting, theatre, graphics, setdesign, and textile design.
What caught my eye and I hadn't seen before was Ljubov Popovas textile designs. They are very cool and timeless.

Last day to visit this exibition is 17th of May.

Fever Ray

I had to put this video up, it is truly beautiful.

When I Grow Up from Fever Ray on Vimeo.

Fever Ray is a solo project by Karin Drejer Andersson of The Knife. The music is still electronic but darker and calmer. Amazing. Fever Ray is playing here at The Royal Festival Hall supporting Royksopp at the 11th of April, I am so getting a ticket...

Amsterdam in March

2 days into my visit to Asterdam, alongside the canals in the red light district I came across a series of pop up shops as part of redlight fashion Amsterdam www.redlightfashionamsterdam.com
At night the window displays looked so cool, lit up alongside the windows of girls waiting for business........pretty atmospheric.
I liked the CODE gallery store with its selected range of printed t's,
sportswear and off beat accessories....... www.codegallerystore.com

The day of shopping I did was spent walking the flea markets, always
interesting and good to be finally amongst the Dutch traders!! Some
fantastic bargains to be found, from vintage cameras to homeware to
customised cycling top jumpsuits to......red scholl sandals.

The Queens Royal Hussar jacket

We recently got this amazing Hussar jacket for the shop! James found it on one of his ventures around the world. It is from The Queen's Royal Hussars regiment, witch traces its roots back to 1685. Hussars refer to a type of light cavalry created in Hungary in the 15th century.
Their jackets are legendary, and they keep beeing reinvented.

Here are just a few examples...
